Hi, my name is Rene Brucker. I'm a park planner with Tualatin Hills Park and Recreation District. We're at Eichler Park, and it's in the center of Beaverton, on the corner of Farmington Road and Menlo. When they took the building down, it was left vacant. And the weeds grew up. And it was your typical empty, vacant lot with concrete here and there and weeds growing up across the site. It was rather nasty-looking. Tualatin Hills had been looking at the site for many years and wanting to acquire it to expand the Eichler Park.

We contacted Metro and DEQ to discuss what would need to happen at that site in order for us to purchase it. What we're looking for here is to provide the community what they're wanting for this site. It's a very nice site as far as access and visual as you're driving down Farmington Road. As we get closer into town, such as this, where I feel like we're on the fringe right here, this is a good location to expand and provide that open space, green space for the community here.
