Application, create and post a SMART goal for this course. And evaluation, reflection, which includes three items, Fun with Failure, a summary, and week two evaluation. As you see, we are modeling the WIPPEAR lesson format.

In the reading for week two, you'll watch the introduction by Liz Kolb. You'll answer the questions. Which ideas resonate most with you? Why? Which ideas were you most confused about? Why? Are there any ideas you didn't agree with? Why? There will also be a reference list if you want to do further reading.

In the discussions, remember, you must complete all items in the module or you'll not be able to move forward. Here is the good news. When I went through the model and module and I forgot to finish something, Canvas had a list for me so I easily could find what I needed to go back and finish. And don't forget to mark done.

SMART goals are a valuable motivation for students involvement. I use them in my own classes each quarter. I would review them during the quarter to help remind the students of their efforts.

SMART stands for Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time-based. If SMART goals are something new to you or if you want to review them, you can click on the link at the bottom of the page SMART Goal Setting with your students.

When the writers of the course first brought up fun with failure, we laughed a lot and it was reassuring to realize that these failure experiences had happened in all of our classrooms.

And it was good to learn from each other. We find that our students learn from our failures, and then they're more comfortable when they struggle.
