If Principal is new to you, we're a global financial services company based in Des Moines, Iowa.

You might think all our internships are in finance.

We have plenty of those, but our interns also work in tech, HR, sales, and many other areas.

This summer, more than two hundred interns joined us from across the U.S.

While most of our interns are in Des Moines, we also welcomed interns in other U.S. locations, including our growing office in Charlotte, North Carolina.

So, what's it actually like to spend a summer here?

As a Principal intern, you'll learn by doing.

You'll contribute to real projects that make a real impact.

You'll take on work, big and small, with support from your team and leader along the way. And it's about more than just the work.

Our dedicated internship program team creates plenty of ways to learn, connect and have fun.

We kick off the summer with a celebration, where our leaders share about the impact Principal has had on their career.

Fun fact: our CEO started here as an intern.

Throughout the summer, you can build your business knowledge through various learning sessions, meet people and community through formal and informal networking, celebrate National Intern Day and the impact our interns have while they're here, take part in a codeathon style event where technology teams work together to solve real business challenges, and give back through community service.

By the end of your internship, you'll have new skills, new connections, and a better sense of where your career could take you.
