PRESENTER: My name is Sarang. I'm a financial analyst intern this summer on the corporate strategy and development team. My experience interning at Principal has been filled with learning and has been fantastic because there are so many great people with so much diversity of career who have been willing to share about their experiences and help me out as I've explored this summer.

As an intern on corporate strategy and development team, one of my projects this summer has been helping to evaluate potential growth opportunities within our asset management business unit. This summer, one of my favorite networking opportunities has been the ability to grab coffee one on one with different mentors throughout the summer who have been able to share about their own career experiences.

The best piece of advice for aspiring interns is to be proactive about reaching out to employees who are in areas that you're interested in and then do the same when you're here over the summer. Principal helped set me up for success by promoting a culture of growth that really starts with the intern level. I think across this summer, everyone that I've met has been very excited about me being here and has gone out of their way to make sure that I've had a great experience and I'm getting the sorts of opportunities that I'm looking for.
