Host 1: This is the focused listening section of the lesson. You will need a pencil and your worksheet, or a piece of paper. Many times, you listen to information, but you're not sure what you hear. Today, we are going to practice listening to specific information while calling about jobs. Listen carefully to Sonya make some more calls about different jobs she wants.

Narrator: Look at the worksheet. You see three columns of boxes marked Company, Wrong Number, and Application. Down the side of the page, the sets of boxes are numbered. Watch Sonya make her calls. For each call, listen and write in the name of the company Sonya calls. If Sonya gets a wrong number, then put a mark under Wrong Number instead. Under the word Application, write the word yes if they tell Sonya to come in and fill out an application.

Sonya: Oh, I'm sorry to disturb you. I'll check the number and try again.

Host 1: Now, mark the correct box for the first call next to number 1. You should have marked the box that says Wrong Number because Sonya dialed the wrong number. Let's continue.
